My name is Pat, I have a wonderful partner and two healthy animals. We are asking for help to raise money to avoid being evicted. Steph(my partner) has just been through a shoulder surgery due to our previous landlords neglecting thick algecide during their safety check prior to us moving in. We were told at 5pm on a dark Friday evening by our previous landlords "your keys to your apartment are taped to the management office door". We raced from our temporary airbnb to get the keys. She was so excited when we got here. With a dimly lit back porch a week before Christmas 2023, she stepped outside on our back porch with our rescue Pittie for the very first time, and had one moment of excitement before she suffered a slip and fall in the dark. The look of fear on her face when I got to her- she was afraid to move a muscle, as she had already had documented spine issues. She unknowingly started working with 2 tears- one being in her rotator cuff not shown on the MRI-that the surgeon was able to fix during (what was only supposed to be) a routine arthroscopy surgery for him.
She has had multiple spine procedures since the December 2023 slip and fall- including a back procedure that had been pushed back multiple times by providers and the pain put her out of work for a while. With only my income we ended up behind on rent and they are taking legal actions. We ultimately need to raise our goal by the 10th of sept as they have set a court date then. We have been advised that the only way to fully secure our housing, is by paying $5,107.02 and providing reasonable cause- which she absolutely has plenty of. We are asking for help with roughly half of what we owe, with court fees being involved, its unreasonably expensive. Thank you to everyone who stops by and a big thank you to anyone who donates!
