Keep Pacific Ballet Academy dancing!

Spende geschützt
Who we are:
Your support will help sustain Pacific Ballet Academy, which has been a women-owned performing arts institution for over 34 years. We now have former students bringing their children into our school!  Will you help us continue to serve PBA’s mission to instill the joy and enriching discipline of dance in students of all ages?  Please visit our website HERE for more information.

The Mission of Pacific Ballet Academy:
-We want to be a safe, secure place for our students and for them to feel that we are an extended family
-We want our students to learn from the examples and actions of our teachers so that they can carry these throughout their lives.  The students look up to their teachers and we want to set a fine example.
-We want to pass down the traditions and knowledge of Classical Ballet to our students and for them to learn our rich history in the Bay Area.
-We want to instill in our students a love of ballet and dance. We want it to be a positive influence in their lives so that they can carry their knowledge into their lives.  When they look back on their childhood, they will see how much ballet has helped shape who they are, and how they look at life. Dance affects your journey in a creative yet disciplined way.
-We want to give every young person who has a strong desire to dance the opportunity to do so. It is very important to us that nobody be denied the opportunity to fulfill their love of dance due to their circumstances.

Why we are making this request:

We are committed to providing employment to our teaching artists who rely on PBA to sustain their livelihoods as dance educators. We were fortunate to have secured a PPP loan to cover salaries for 2 months, but that does not begin to cover our expenses. PBA is absorbing the significant loss of revenue that we would normally earn through studio rentals, drop-in classes, and performances due to our studio closure. We also need to have health protocols in place to ensure the safety of our staff and students as we go forward.

How the money will be spent:
The $80,000 will be used to help us cover our expenses over the next months. We have $40,000 per month in expenses. 80% of our expenses are for Payroll and Rent. The remaining 20% covers utilities, upgraded cleaning purchases and procedures. We are planning PBA’s summer and fall terms with great optimism, but the short term potential income will be limited, because of smaller class sizes.

Why this is important:
We are dedicated to providing the highest quality virtual dance training possible as we shelter in place, and are currently pivoting our school’s policies and operating procedures to ensure a safe, healthy environment once on-site classes resume. Our mission has always been to instill the joy and enriching discipline of dance in students of all ages. This is especially important in these times when students need to have movement, discipline and creativity in their lives!

If you are in a position to do so:
Would you please consider making a personally meaningful contribution to PBA during this critical moment for the arts and small, family-run businesses?

Donation options:
1. Please help us bridge this gap with a gift to our GoFundMe campaign.  Payments go directly to PBA’s general account, from which we pay our operating expenses and where our need is greatest. These donations are not tax-deductible. You can also share the link in your Facebook or Instagram account to get the word out!
2. If you prefer to make a tax-deductible contribution or work for a company that will match charitable donations, please make your check payable to “San Jose Ballet Association,” which is our non-profit organization that specifically supports student scholarships and performance-related expenses. We anticipate that we will see an increase in scholarship requests since this crisis has affected many families financially. You can mail to: Pacific Ballet Academy, PO Box 765, Los Altos, CA 94023-0765

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for considering our humble request and for being part of Pacific Ballet Academy’s community. We are grateful for you and believe that together, we will all thrive during the current challenges and emerge stronger and more creative than ever. Even if you are not able to contribute, would you please share this with other people who might be in a position to help us?
