Hello, my name is Owen and I am a rising sophomore at DePaul University in Chicago Illinois. I cannot begin my Fall Quarter at DePaul University because of a balance that I need to pay for this school year. I’ve tried everything such as external scholarships, loans, and aid, but unfortunately, I don’t qualify for much, and I’ve maxed out what I qualified for.
This year is especially important to me because I finally feel like I’m growing into myself.
I’m heading into my sophomore year of college and I’ve really started to feel at home in my Public Relations and Advertising major with a minor in journalism. I feel like I finally found something that I am genuinely good at and passionate about and more than anything, I’m just ready to continue my track to finish school and be back with my friends.
One of the biggest parts of that growth has been dance. I was recently named a dance captain for my university’s competitive dance team, which has been a huge honor for me, not just as a leadership role, but as a way to express myself and connect with my community. Dance is my outlet, my freedom, and something that keeps me grounded through the stress of school. Losing my chance to continue at DePaul would also mean stepping away from the dance opportunities I’ve worked so hard for.
With all that being said, every share and contribution no matter the size brings me a step closer to achieving my educational dreams and securing a brighter future.
Thank you for being apart of this journey, your support means the world to me!
