My name is Mimi Tran and I am helping Tom Bui, who recently had his car stolen along with all the equipment for the youth soccer team that he coaches. Your donation would help greatly towards equipping this local youth team.

Our youth soccer team is made up of 9-11 amazing kids from City Heights to South Bay. We believe every child deserves the chance to play, so we work hard to keep our program free or low-cost for local families. As the organizer, I help cover uniform and club fees so that no one is left out due to financial barriers.

Recently, our team faced an unexpected setback. My car was stolen, and with it, we lost all of our practice equipment, two goals, and the team uniforms. This loss has been devastating—not just for me, but for every player who looks forward to practice and game day. Without this gear, the kids can’t take the field for upcoming games, and our ability to run practices and provide mentorship is at risk.

Replacing this gear isn’t just about replacing “stuff”—it’s about keeping the season alive for these kids. The sudden need to buy all new jerseys, balls, and training gear creates a huge financial hurdle that could impact our ability to keep the program affordable. For many of our players, practice is the highlight of their week. It’s where they find structure, mentorship, and a sense of belonging. Without the gear to run those sessions, we lose that vital connection time with the youth in our community.
