Keep our Photography Center Alive

Donation protected
We are The Image Flow Photography Center in the San Francisco Bay Area. Like so many other businesses we have been severely affected by the coronavirus and resulting shelter in place mandate. While we’ve taken steps to adapt our offering to the current environment https://theimageflow.com/photography-classes/online-photography-classes/ having our doors closed has affected all other aspects of our business – our planned workshops for spring and summer, private instruction, rental of our studio space and dark room, printing, scanning and art reproduction services.

The Image Flow has been educating and serving the needs of photographers for more than twelve years. We opened in 2008 and weathered the financial crisis that followed shortly after. Since then we have continued to grow our educational offering, which last year included 57 workshops taught by our staff and independent photographers and artists.

Until now we have not faced the threat of having to close the center, but with the loss of business due to the current situation, the overhead, including rent on our 6300 square foot space, has become too much to carry on our own - our reserves are depleted. For our large community of photographers and the artists we work with, closing would be a terrible loss. For our amazing team of employees, who have worked so hard to build and grow this center into what it is today, it would be disheartening. And for myself it would leave a tremendous void, as I have spent over 45 years dedicated to photography - first as an advertising photographer and then, motivated by a desire to share this art with others, as the founder of The Image Flow.

The funds collected through this effort, would be used to cover rent, as well as wages for our employees as we bring them back from furlough. These funds are needed as soon as possible to offset current and future expenses as we ramp back up.

Keeping The Image Flow alive means keeping our photographic community alive and united. And what is more important than community as we come out of this current crisis?

We know that this is a challenging time for everyone. If you’re able, please contribute what you can – no gift is too small. We are grateful for your incredible support over the years and in this time of need.

We wish you and your loved ones strength and health in this unprecedented time, and hope to welcome you back to The Image Flow once this crisis has passed.

With gratitude,

Stuart
