Imagine a school where math is learned in the garden, science in the forest, and every child grows up with a deep love of the natural world. That’s Boscuela, a unique outdoor school in a rare cloud forest in southern Mexico.

For the past five years, Boscuela has transformed the lives of children and families by offering an extraordinary education rooted in nature, community, and creativity. But now, our simple open-air classrooms urgently need new roofs and safe flooring to protect our students from the intense sun and rain. With your help, we can raise $14,000 to ensure this vibrant community continues to thrive in safety.

How Boscuela Began

“Boscuela was created because it broke my heart to see my one and a half year old son isolated from other children during the COVID pandemic. My husband and I decided to look for a place where children could play together freely and safely in a natural environment.”

“On the very first day, with one teacher and a handful of children, we knew that Boscuela offered something extraordinary and essential for our community and our planet!”

“Boscuela is much more than a school, it’s a community that is building a deep connection with and commitment to protect our natural environment.”

- Andrea León, founder of Boscuela

More than a School

Boscuela is a community where children discover joy in learning and develop a deep connection with nature. Here, education goes beyond textbooks:

“Being in contact with plants while I’m learning is amazing.” — M., age 9
“Walking in the woods gets rid of bad vibes.” — A., age 9
“Boscuela is my second home and I love it a lot.” — L., age 11

Parents notice the difference too:

“My son doesn’t want to miss school. He arrives early and leaves late. In the garden they don’t just learn about crops, but their cultural, political and nutritional importance, while integrating math and grammar.” — C., mother of L., age 9

“I love the community, what my children have been taught, and what they receive on so many levels.” - B. mother of N. age 8 and R. age 10

Why This Matters

The future of our planet depends on children who know, love, and protect the natural world. Sadly, fewer and fewer children today have the opportunity to spend time outdoors. Boscuela is changing that reality.

We operate on a bare-bones budget, with passionate teachers and scholarships that allow children from low-income families to attend. After five years, our original classrooms now require urgent repairs: roofs that no longer withstand heavy rains, and floors that make learning unsafe.

You Can Help

Your support will directly fund the renovation of Boscuela’s classrooms, keeping this dream alive for the children of today—and the caretakers of tomorrow.

✨ Goal: $14,000 ✨

Every contribution, no matter the size, makes a real difference.

Please donate today and share our story. Together, we can keep Boscuela safe, thriving, and raising a generation that will protect the Earth.
