Me, My Mat, and I Yoga Studio was opened October 1, 2016 near Fort Hood, TX, with the intent of sustaining a community of diverse yogis that would thrive in their practice. At the core of the studio’s beliefs is that yoga is for everyone and everyone is welcome. Since opening, the studio has been a yoga home to many teachers, students, and events. We have laughed together, played together, said farewells, welcomed and celebrated new life all together as a community.
The Coronavirus pandemic has caused significant challenges for Me. My Mat, and I. At the beginning of shutdown, the studio quickly adapted to support the yoga community by reducing class sizes and intensively cleaning to ensure and protect everyone’s safety. When the studio was forced to close at the end of March due to an executive order, the studio again adapted and made the switch to an online platform offering a full schedule of virtual classes, including free weekly offerings to support the community.
Unfortunately, due to economic instability and an inability to offer in-studio classes, we have lost memberships, and been unable to actively acquire new members. This has placed an overwhelming burden on the studio’s owner and staff.
Today we reach out in an effort to sustain an irreplaceable and one-of-kind yoga studio. With the generosity of an amazing community, yogis from near and far, family, and friends we CAN keep Me My Mat and I open during this time of uncertainty. Each and every donation can and inevitably will make a difference, by not only keeping Me My Mat and I open but by providing the community the opportunity to thrive and support each other during this unprecedented time. All funds donated will be used to pay studio bills as well as reinstate salaries for the team of yoga instructors who have humbly and graciously foregone their salaries in order to support a community near and dear to their hearts.
We know this pandemic will not break our spirit and with your help, Me My Mat and I will continue to be a home for our community for years to come!
