We’re students at Durango High School, and we’re creating this GoFundMe for one of the most incredible teachers we’ve ever had — our Digital Media teacher. Many of us have had her for multiple years, and to us, she’s more than just a teacher — she’s a mentor, a friend, and someone who has created a safe, creative space where we can always be ourselves. Her classroom is like a second home. She listens without judgment, supports us through everything, and inspires us to be confident in who we are.

Right now, she’s facing something really tough. To keep teaching here at DHS, she has to pass a difficult art certification exam called the Praxis test. She’s taken it five times already — and has barely missed passing each time. The test is focused on a different area of art than she normally teaches, but she keeps trying because she loves what she does and doesn’t want to give up on her students.

Each attempt costs hundreds of dollars, and it’s added up fast. We’re starting this GoFundMe to help reimburse her for the tests she’s already taken and to cover the cost of one more try — one last shot to keep doing what she loves: teaching and supporting students like us.

If she can’t pass this time, she could lose her position at our school — and honestly, DHS wouldn’t be the same without her. She’s changed so many lives here, and now we want to give back in the same way she’s given to all of us.

Our goal is $900, which will help cover past test fees and the next one. Any amount, no matter how small, would mean the world — not just to her, but to every student she’s impacted.

Thank you for helping us keep one of the best teachers Durango High has ever had. ❤️
