Hello fellow Palmer mountain, aka The Cabin, aka The Mountains lovers. Many of us have such sweet memories up at the cabin. And we all hope there are many more memories to be made.

With that said, property taxes have sky rocketed after my dad's death due to a new law passing that took away the grandfathered in property tax fees. We've been paying thousands every year and it's just not sustainable anymore. CA is nuts. $2k a year for vacant land?

Therefore, I am asking for help. For all you who go up and enjoy the property, who would like to go up and enjoy it, or otherwise, we are asking for help.

We owe $2,000 in property taxes for 2025 alone. Would anyone feel so compelled to help us keep this property in the family? Selling it, I feel, would make my father and his parents roll over in their graves. It is important that it stays in the family and is passed down to generation to generation. My Dad said my grandparents got it to keep all the generations knowing what life was like in the country, and to not raise complete "city folk". It's many peoples happy place.

Anything helps. I can barely pay my own bills right now dealing with my cancer meds and the side effects they give me. I cannot handle this alone.

Im not one to ask for money so this is a big ask from me.

1/27/25 - we are in awe of the generosity and love shown for the cabin and the Palmer legacy. We've almost reached the goal so I added more to go towards fixing our water tank, which has a substantial leak, pulling the pump for maintenance and cleaning, and repairing the toilet. I hope this is not presumptious of me. Running water is important up there. All donations go to the cabin fund.
