In Loving Memory of Oliver (Yifei) Sun: A Life Cut Short, But a Spirit That Shines On

Oliver Yifei Sun, our beloved colleague, friend, son, husband, was tragically taken from us at the age of 33 during a recent triathlon in New York City. Oliver's vibrant spirit and optimistic outlook on life have a profound impact on all who knew him, and he will be dearly missed.

Oliver grew up in Shanghai, China. After graduating from Carnegie Mellon University and Shanghai Jiaotong University, he most recently worked at Citadel as a Senior Product Designer. With his analytical skillset and empathetic nature, he quickly became a leader of the team and his work continue to make impact across every corner of the firm. He met his wife Isabelle Kao in New York City, and the couple got married in May 2022 in Mexico.

Oliver has never been afraid of challenges. He embraced them with a smile, constantly pushing himself to new limits. The triathlon was a testament to his adventurous spirit and unwavering determination. While our hearts ache at this sudden loss, we find solace knowing he passed away doing what he loved.

Oliver is survived by his wife Isabelle, and his parents Weihua and Maochun.

In memory of Oliver and to honor his zest for life, we are raising funds to cover the costs of his memorial service, and excess funds will be donated to charities that will promote Oliver’s legacy and his love for sports and animals. This will allow us to celebrate his life in a way that reflects his infectious positivity and adventurous spirit, and to ensure his legacy continues to inspire others to embrace life's challenges and never stop striving to be their best.

Oliver's absence leaves a void, but he will forever be a source of strength and inspiration. With your help, we can ensure his spirit lives on, encouraging others to chase their dreams and embrace life's adventures with the same enthusiasm Oliver embodied.
