Hello, my name is Melody, and I’m writing on behalf of my dear friend, Nyalib Chambang—one of the most driven, courageous, and inspiring individuals I’ve had the privilege of meeting during my time at Temple University.

Nyalib is an aspiring lawyer studying both political science and philosophy. She moved to Philadelphia from Storm Lake, Iowa, with a dream of not only receiving a quality education but also gaining a broader perspective on life. As a first-generation college student, education is not just a personal goal for Nyalib—it’s a life-changing opportunity for her family and the people around her. She has worked tirelessly to get to where she is today, and by the grace of God, she continues to thrive.

Unfortunately, Nyalib is currently facing a financial dilemma. Despite being a high-achieving and dedicated student, she was unable to secure enough financial aid to cover the remaining cost of her housing. As many of you can relate, Nyalib and her family are in no position to fully support these costs, so this GoFundMe campaign is truly a last resort.

She has already applied for a loan increase, but the process could take weeks to complete—and that’s only if it’s approved. Without immediate support, there’s a real risk that Nyalib’s education will be put on hold, which would be devastating after all the effort and sacrifice she and her family have put into getting to this point.
