Keep Nature STEAM Camp Alive for Youth

Help Us Fund the Nature STEAM TexPrep Academy – Summer 2025

My name is Tamia Parker, and I’m reaching out with deep hope and urgency on behalf of Commissary Is Very Necessary Inc. (CIVN). For the past three summers, we’ve partnered with Dallas College to bring the Nature STEAM TexPrep Academy to life; a transformative summer camp that gives youth in underserved communities the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive.

This isn’t just a camp... it’s a launchpad. Our program blends Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM) with nature-based learning and hands-on discovery. Every summer, we welcome students who may not otherwise have access to high-quality academic enrichment. We give them a safe space, caring mentors, and an environment that sparks imagination and builds confidence.

But this year, we need your help. Right now, we have no funding to operate the camp; no supplies, no meals, no stipends, no transportation, and no way to say “yes” to the students eagerly waiting for the summer experience they deserve.

We are asking for your support to raise $20,000 to keep this program going.

Your donation will help us:

Provide daily meals and transportation

Purchase STEAM kits, nature supplies, and art materials

Cover instructor and mentor stipends

Host field trips and outdoor explorations

Create a safe, empowering, and unforgettable experience for every child
