Keep My Roof Above

I've been out of work for the better part of four years. Four years ago, I asked the ex for a piece of the business I'd been helping him to build, in writing, after he had a scary health scare. He hemmed and hawed, then found an excuse to both fire and dump me. Although I get a tiny bit of government help, I've fallen farther and farther behind. I've been borrowing from Elder Sister every month, with no means to pay her back. The bills are beyond me. Of course, I'd rather be working, but no one wants to hire a woman my age.

I have to pay the rent. I have to pay Con Edison tomorrow, or the lights are out. Anything you can give will help me keep body and soul together. I am grateful for any and all help you can send my way. Thank you, from the center of my heart.
