I'm Lori. It's been a rough couple of years.
The most recent life hurdle is being diagnosed with breast cancer. It was caught very early . I was told as far as cancer goes, this is what you want. Things look great. Your lymph nodes look clear.
So I had my surgery which went well and they tested the lymph nodes. Unfortunately the cancer was in one of the four that were removed. Which means I now need chemotherapy as well as radiation treatment.
This means I will lose my hair. This may not seem like a big deal to many people, but for me, facing this is extremely traumatic.
However, I was told about a new therapy that greatly increases the chance of keeping my hair during my treatment. It's called the DigniCap System. It's a cooling cap that you wear during treatment which lowers the temperature of your head to 37°. However, it's relatively new and insurance does not cover it.
There is an upfront cost and each treatment is $300. I am lucky because I am only getting four chemo treatments, but that still adds up.
I'm trying to raise $1,500 to cover the cost of the DigniCap so that I can keep my hair during chemo treatment.
My plan is to continue working during all of my treatments and not having to worry about losing my hair during this would be a great burden lifted.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story. Much love and blessings to you.
