Keep Mt. Zion Church Dry

Donation protected
Mt. Zion Memorial Church, located on Polks Rd. near Princess Anne, Maryland was built in 1887. The church was in continuous use as a functioning church until 2002 and has since been converted to use for community events including reunions, weddings and funerals.
In 2007, Mt. Zion Memorial Church was listed on the National Register for Historic Places in addition to the Maryland Register for Historic Sites.

The roof has been leaking during the past year causing damage to the roof, ceilings, interior walls and flooring. Due to the rain damage, we have had to suspend use of the building for activities. Ongoing inclement weather has accelerated the need for a new roof and renovations inside the church.

Mt. Zion Memorial Church plays a vital role in community activities and is a strong partner with Trinity United Methodist Worship Center, of which Mt. Zion was originally a part of. This community center provides these activities for the residents of Mt. Vernon, Oriole, Venton and the greater Princess Anne area.

It is imperative that we receive funding to prevent further damage and preserve the church for our community. We appreciate any donations and continued support of this project.

All donations are welcomed including labor, materials and time.

Sincerely,
Mt. Zion Historical Society
