Please consider donating to our mission to raise $90,000 for a new, fully-accessible vehicle for Morgan. Morgan Wadkins Aldrich was just 17 years old -- a Senior in high school -- when she was involved in a car accident that left her paralyzed from the chest down.
Although this tragedy has left her in a wheelchair for life, she has never let it control her destiny. She is now a vibrant 33-year-old who lives with the love of her life, Ryan, and her beautiful daughter Nellie, who is 4. She has a part-time job, but can only work a very limited number of hours.
The van she drives now is very close to becoming non-road-worthy and unsafe for her and her little girl. The door, as well as the ramp, often fail to work properly, essentially leaving her stranded until she gets assistance from others, sometimes total strangers. Morgan cannot continue to risk becoming stranded in an undependable vehicle as her body reacts differently to the cold, and heat as well, which can be extremely dangerous to her health.
Living in rural Vermont, it is extremely difficult to maneuver the elements in a vehicle low to the ground, such as her current van. She has been at times stuck at home due to this. This truck will have the four-wheel-drive and much greater ground clearance needed to maneuver in the snow and mud.
We (her family and friends) are pulling out all the stops fundraising on multiple levels to help her afford this new truck, including a Calcutta event and silent auction. Even the younger cousins, niece, and nephew, from age 3 - 12 will be having a bake sale to make their own contribution. Our efforts -- and your donations -- will be documented on TikTok and YouTube for all to see our progress. Please consider joining us.
