HELP US KEEP MITCHELL PARK STRONG AND BEAUTIFUL!!
Mitchell Park is a community gem, nestled in the heart of the Kalorama neighborhood in Washington, DC. It has grown into the most beautiful park in the city—a special haven for events, relaxation, and gatherings for all! But, this treasure is in danger. The COVID-19 pandemic forced us to cancel the park's usual in-person fundraising efforts for the past year-plus, and it won’t be until 2022 that we can host another sizable in-person fundraiser. Without those opportunities, we are tens of thousands of dollars short of our annual fundraising goals.
WHY DOES THIS MATTER?
Mitchell Park does not pay for itself. While we get some funds from the city, much of the park upkeep and all our events are paid for through fundraising and community donations. Without those generous donations from our neighbors, the park would have no benches, no rose-patch reading circle, no picnic tables, no state of the art playground, no ball court, no herb garden, no hydrangeas, no tulips, no irises, no bank of daffodils. Nor would there be a summer films in the Park series, Fall Fun Day, and outdoor musical performances!
WE NEED YOUR HELP!
The park continues to need and require nurturing and maintenance—now more than ever. The landscaper, the tree pruners, the repairs to irrigation and other equipment, the flower planters, and lots of little things you may not even notice. Help us keep Mitchell Park strong, and donate today. Be a Friend of Mitchell Park (FOMP) in name and deed. Show some love for the park that really loves you back!
