Funeral Service: Tuesday October 12th, 5pm-8pm @ Decker Funeral Home, Windham NY
Missy Runyan was a well known wildlife rehabilitator for Hudson County. She went above and beyond to make sure that all feathered and furry creatures had a chance to live out their lives where they belonged… in the wild. If you didn’t get to know Missy than you missed out on one of the most intelligent, caring, funny and social people on the planet. She started up the nonforprofit organization The Friends of the Feathered and Furry Wildlife Center (FFF Wildlife Center). She started off very small and before any of us knew it she became almost famous for all the hard work and dedication that she put into her organization and the animals. Her love for these animals never went unnoticed.
She leaves behind a beloved husband, son and brother as well as a sister -in-law and a few nieces. She also leaves behind a tremendous amount of friends and volunteers; without all of these people the organization and Missy’s dreams would’ve never gotten so big. While she had so much love for the wildlife she had so much love for her small family that she always brought joy and laughter too. We will forever miss her and she will hold a special place in all our hearts.
Please help us continue Missy’s legacy and continue to Let Wild Be Wild as she’d always say.
