I’m raising this fundraiser for my cousin, Miss Joan, who is 78 years old and facing foreclosure by the bank. So far we have managed to get the date changed to December 5. Now trying to get her heat turned back on.

This has been deeply painful for Miss Joan. She feels like a complete failure and is overwhelmed, not knowing what to do next. At 78, facing something this heavy and personal is heartbreaking, and I want to do everything I can to help her through it while protecting her privacy and dignity as much as I can well still being open about everything.

Miss Joan has even tried to get a job at her age, but she could not because she was not qualified. She used to work in a local nursing home, taking care of people, and now she is the one who needs help. Her legs and her bad back make everything even harder.

The money raised will go toward paying off Miss Joan’s mortgage loan and helping stop the sheriff sale, so she can stay in her home. That is the immediate need, and the timeline is very short. If she does lose the house, she will also need help with moving expenses as she tries to figure out where to go next. She also has a dog and three cats who would be displaced if the house is sold.
