Hello, my name is Michael Lane Wilbert.

I am a rising sophomore at Morehouse College, majoring in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing. Morehouse has had a profound impact on me, both personally and creatively. It has helped me grow intellectually, build confidence, and embrace a sense of brotherhood I didn’t have in high school.

During my freshman year, I made the Dean’s List, Honor Roll, and was recognized as a Top Ranking Scholar. I also gave back to my community using my talents and advocated for my fellow students.

Unfortunately, tuition at Morehouse has increased from $52,000 to $56,000. Despite receiving financial aid, scholarships, and contributions from my family and myself, I am still $4,000 short of covering my tuition. My mother and I have worked tirelessly to keep me enrolled, and while I’m still waiting to hear back from a few scholarships, the payment deadline is fast approaching.

In addition to the tuition gap, I’ve been placed in a position where I must secure off-campus housing, which adds to my financial burden. Funds I could have used toward tuition must now go toward rent and living expenses.

Returning to Morehouse is deeply important to me. Becoming a Morehouse Man has always been a dream, and I am committed to building on the strong foundation I created during my first year. I have already invested so much into my education, and I refuse to give up without exhausting every possible resource.
