Hello, my name is Michael. I am 67 years old and live in Phoenix, Arizona with my two little rescue dogs. Seven years ago, I had to take early retirement due to medical conditions. At that time, my dogs and I moved into a previously owned 2013 towable 33-foot RV. Up until a couple of years ago, I had been able to keep up with the basic maintenance of our home. When bigger issues arose, I started having trouble keeping up with the repairs while living on my fixed monthly income, especially after depleting any savings I had on other repairs.
Last year, my AC unit died just before the hottest time of the year here in Arizona. I made it through last summer using two used portable room units in my living room. Even with these two units, the living room never got below 87° with the rest of the RV being as high as 104°. This year, I am down to only one portable AC unit. On top of that, I have had to do a few quick fixes on the plumbing as I could not afford to have total repairs done. The AC also went out on my 2008 Dodge Avenger, which is my only mode of transportation to and from doctor's appointments.
I have looked into loan options to get all of the repairs done, but because of my low fixed income, I have not been able to secure a loan as a 12-year-old RV and a 2008 car do not offer enough equity. I am not normally one to ask for help, but I have no alternative, especially with the extreme heat of an Arizona summer upon us. I am in desperate need of help. I especially worry about my little dogs surviving this heat. As much as I worry about them, my own medical problems escalate due to the heat.
To cover the cost of the whole house AC and heat unit, the labor, bathroom plumbing repairs with labor, and also the AC repairs to my car, it is estimated I would need approximately $5000 to cover everything. This would allow long-term repairs to my biggest maintenance problems that I cannot continue to hold together with quick fixes.
Thank you for your help with my situation and God bless you.
Sincerely, Michael and my furry family.
