I'm raising funds to try and keep my friend, Megan, and her son, Phin, from being evicted from their home of the last 8 years. Megan is one of the most loving, caring, and sparkly people you'll ever meet and just needs a little help while she gets back on her feet. In recent years, Megan has had to endure the loss of two sisters, lost her job of 5 years, and narrowly survived DV. While Megan has had to overcome these and other unconscionable circumstances, she did, unfortunately, also begin a struggle with her mental health and alcohol.
BUT... I am so grateful to be able to tell you that, in the last few months, Megan has begun her healing, sober journey and is now diligently working on repairing things while getting her life back as a beautiful, wonderful, amazing, and self-sufficient human. Megan is 32 days sober today and starts a new job tomorrow.
Although Megan is now sober and gainfully employed, she does have a bit of a hole to dig out of. Megan is currently at risk of losing the home she has lovingly and independently maintained for herself and her son for over 8 years. She is currently 1 month behind in rent with the next month due by November 22nd and she has no resources to help her pay the balance by the deadline given by the courts to avoid eviction.
Megan knows she is the reason she's in such a position and is extremely regretful that she "couldn't get it together sooner." I've watched her work any odd job she could find and apply for a job at every business within walking distance of her home. Regardless of her regrets, Megan is trying her butt off and I think she deserves a little bit of help and a little bit of a break. I know that once she's current in rent, she'll be able to keep herself current. She just needs help getting there. So if you agree with me that she deserves a helping hand and you have a few dollars to spare, please donate to help Megan and her son.
