Keep Matthew's Family Afloat

My name is Ashley and my husband, Matthew, got sick on 6/7 with the flu. That then caused an infection in his wisdom tooth, which caused him to have massive swelling. After 2 trips to the walk-in and 2 different Emergency Room visits, Matt was finally transferred to RI Hospital where he got surgery and has now been on a vent since 6/13. They are now trying to wean him off, but God and he are the only ones who know what's gonna happen next.

He is the only one who works, and he currently applied for TDI, but we all know how long that can take. I asked Matt for permission before doing this because we are not ones who ask for help. But with him now being out of work for almost 2 weeks and a waiting game for TDI, we just wanna make sure our things are okay and just keep our heads above water till that starts, especially needing gas to get back and forth to the hospital and appointments for me and the kids. update 6/19

as of today, June 19, Matthew is being transferred to the MICU at our hospital. There was a possibility of him going on ECMO. They have his estimated discharge date as July 7. We’re just currently trying to keep positive thoughts and trying to stay positive but everything is currently getting tougher and tougher. The kids don’t know what to do with themselves and it’s getting hard to keep explaining why Daddy‘s at the hospital. As of yesterday he went for another surgery for another drain for the infection. Everything looked good and last night it just went to hell. I will keep everybody posted as I possibly can.
