Keep Matt Standing

True to his name, Matt Standing is taking a stand against his nemesis Lymphoma for the second time.

Matt is a dedicated family man, married to his wife Bianca and the father of 3 children – Ava, Emee

and Oliver and a passionate netball coach; coaching the sport in schools, clubs and

representative levels.

Toward the end of 2021 Matt received the news no one ever wants to hear, that is, he had Non

Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Throughout the Christmas and New Year period while other families were

gathering together and celebrating Matt and his family were living a nightmare. When family friends

and netball colleagues became aware of Matt’s diagnosis they rallied to provide support to the

family.

After many rounds of treatment, Matt was able to return to family life and the netball courts with the

news that he was in remission. He took his rep netball team to the Junior State Age event and

coached his club team to the Grand Final, with the team coming away victorious in the local Under

12 Division 1 competition.

Things were looking good with Matt given the all-clear in November 2022.

Unfortunately, the good news was short-lived, as Matt soon learned cancer had returned. With

Matt is now off work again, finances have been pushed to the limit and ongoing treatment costs are

skyrocketing. Family and friends are again supporting the Standings by cooking meals and providing

support in many other ways.

But there is only so much we can do as a small group. We are hopeful that this GoFundMe page will

help to raise funds for the Standings to cover medical expenses that are approaching $50,000. Your

support would mean the world to Matt, Bianca and their kids and we thank you for it.
