Keep Martha Training & Racing

Hello, my name us Martha Newell. I’m 15 years old and I’m an alpine skier.

Background:

I started training when I was six at my local dry ski slope at Gloucester, falling in love with the exhilaration and sense of achievement of getting down the slope in the fastest time possible. From those early days, I have now progressed to being a Welsh Squad team member for three years in a row.

I currently train with Alpine Performance Racing in Italy during the winter from December to March. I ski train five days a week (Ski 8-12 and then school 1-5, then Gym/Fitness, dinner, ski prep & bed). I have school all day on Sundays and a day off on Saturday.

My Goal:

My goal is to continue to give training all that I’ve got, so I will hopefully be picked for the GB Squad sometime soon. Given how much I’ve improved in the past few years, I would like to continue training to further my Alpine skiing skills with the view of trying to make the Olympics one day!

Each day, I work really hard at my training. My coach Fraser has said that I am the hardest working member of the squad.

Funding:

I would really like some funding to support my 2024 / 2025 season, so that I can continue to train & race to best of my ability and fulfil my potential. I’m so grateful to my Mum and Dad who work incredibly hard to pay for all my training, racing and equipment. It’s not enough though to support my plans as I improve as the costs are crazy. I would hugely appreciate any amount of money then you can kindly give to support me to reach my dream.
