Honoring the Life of Marjorie “Marjie” Whitman

On Tuesday, August 19th, our community suffered an unimaginable loss when Marjorie “Marjie” Whitman, just 15 years old, was tragically taken from this world far too soon.

Marjie was a fun-loving young lady who brought joy to everyone around her. She loved her family, her friends, and life itself. She was always there for others—ready to encourage, support, and uplift—never expecting anything in return.

Marjie was looking forward to celebrating her 16th birthday this October, a milestone that will now live on in our hearts. Her passion for cheerleading was evident to everyone who knew her. Even after an injury kept her from the sidelines, she continued to cheer for her teammates and friends with unwavering spirit.

Beyond her love for cheerleading, Marjie shared in her mother’s mission of giving back. Many of Marjie’s family members are from Guatemala, where her mother, Ms. Marjorie Whitman, has worked tirelessly to make sure children in her home community have the school supplies they need to succeed. Each year, she provides backpacks filled with essentials so no child is left without the tools to learn. Marjie proudly supported this cause, reflecting her own caring and giving heart.

While her family is committed to taking care of Marjie’s funeral arrangements, they would like to honor her memory in a way that reflects her love for others and her lasting legacy.
