I’m creating this go fund me for my friend Mala*, one of the sharpest thinkers I know, and a deeply compassionate and sensitive soul.

Mala, who came to this country as an orphaned child, has no family she can stay with in the U.S., and, if she has to leave, would have to move to live with distant relatives in her home country where she would not have access to the consistent mental health care she needs & where it is illegal to be queer.

Black immigrants are often a forgotten population in the immigration conversation, though they are just as prevalent & vital to our society. Please contribute to help Mala* stay in the U.S. to maintain her health care and remain with her friends and networks!
