Keep Maddy Housed

Over the last two months Maddy has worked to find employment while being precariously housed in the hopes of creating a more stable living situation for herself. Maddy worked with people close to her to find success in her job search, unfortunately she ended up in an abusive workplace that severely impacted her physical health and was forced to leave. Fortunately thanks to becoming aware of new opportunities she was able to quickly find a new healthier and more sustainable workplace which she started at just two weeks ago.

After finally finding a new job and having the opportunity to begin working towards stable housing Maddy was given notice she would have to leave her current accommodations by June 1st. Looking for help Maddy found herself with nowhere to land, no finances to secure a lease, and very little time before she would become homeless. To top this all off she has been without running water in her currently living situation for 8 days at the time this was written. Maddy and those of us close to her exhausted our network and resource and have been unable to find immediate solutions to the situation primarily due to a lack of funds.

This fundraiser is to help Maddy pay the deposit on a lease in a 1 bedroom or studio apartment she can afford on her own or in a 2 bedroom apartment she can afford with a roommate. Additional funds will be used to buy living necessities such as cookware and groceries while she waits for her first paycheck. As well funds will be used to get access to water and other self care necessities that her current housing lacks.
