Keep Lucas Afloat During Surgeries
Donation protected
At the end of December, I lost my job after a long period of depression. My meds have been adjusted and I'm doing heaps better, thankfully, but losing your job is never easy. It's even more difficult because I'm in the middle of a couple of surgeries (one that I had on January 18th, the next one is February 16th), and now I have to pay for COBRA, on top of all of the general stress of being unemployed, job hunting, and recovering from surgery.
The US social help system being what it is, I'm still waiting for my unemployment to be approved, almost a month after I applied. I've been hoping that it will be approved soon, but unfortunately I have no idea when that'll happen, and my savings have nearly run out. My fiancée applied for disability back in August, due to her bone disease, but likewise, we haven't heard about that either.
I'm seeking some money to cover 2 months of my COBRA payment ($800/month = $1600 total), gas and a hotel down in the Twin Cities for one night before my next surgery, and covering some of my $3000 deductible. Anything else raised will go directly to cover the mortgage and household bills while I wait for assistance to be approved, and I find a new job.
I really appreciate any donations or shares, and honestly, I just appreciate you taking the time to read this. If you have any questions at all, please feel free to reach out to me - I'm an open book, but I'm keeping the boring details of my procedures out of the public eye for now. Thank you so much.
