Keep Loud Open Stage Alive
Donation protected
My name is Yazmin Castilleja. I started LOUD OPEN STAGE 10 years ago to provide a space for new and unknown bands to perform and create a friendly environment for art exhibitors and different kinds of performers.
My partner Cesar Bustamante has been DIY booking tours for bands in Mexico since 2002. We both work together at Loud and we live in a small room above the venue with our young son Morgan and our puppy Bonifacia. Loud is a family owned venue!
LOUD got shut down by the municipal authorities a couple of weeks ago for unjustified reasons. We have been dealing with the representatives with no positive answer. Our hands are tied, and there’s nothing we can do. We need to get a couple of studies done (sound metric and architectural ) to prove that our venue is adequate for hosting live music. However, the venue must be operating normally to get those studies done. Unfortunately, the city is not allowing us to open, so we cannot find a solution.
Hiring a lawyer to help us with the whole process is the only possible way to get a chance to re-open and get the studies done and then be able to work normally.
We don’t have enough money to cover the costs of the studies and the lawyer fees. And since we can not work, we are in the dark right now. We really NEED your help to get our venue’s doors open again and get back to work. We want to keep the flame of underground alive. We all know the importance of the existence of these kind of spaces in our community so please help us to keep ours.
If your band has played here or you have visited us, you know who we are and how we do things. Many people have enjoyed the art exhibitions, workshops, the performances and all the activities we organize.
Any help to keep our space alive is so appreciated
Thank you!
Yazmin, Morgan, and Cesar
