LS THEATRE PRODUCTIONS NEEDS YOU!
We are a community theatre group who perform shows at The Lamproom Theatre in Barnsley. We offer performance opportunities to local people with a passion for theatre.
Due to the Coronavirus we have had to cancel our next two productions Ireland's Call a celebration for St Patricks Day and the musical Avenue Q. This decision was taken out of our hands due to the government advising people to not attend theatres. In our 12 years we have never had to cancel a production and we are all extremely heartbroken to have had to do this however everyones health must come first and sadly the theatre saying "The Show Must Go On' can not be the case at this time.
As you can all imagine our performers are very upset having rehearsed tirelessly for months to be ready to bring these shows to our loyal audiences. You are audiences have also expressed how much you were all looking forward to the shows and are gutted they will not be going ahead.
LS Theatre Productions survive from show to show and each show must be a success and sell tickets so we can invest in the next show. An average cost to produce a musical can be anything from 7k to 10K and with out our shows going ahead we can not guarantee our future and worry that we will not able to move forward and put on another show. We have shows schedule for June and October that may now also be cancelled and even if they did not get cancelled with our ticket sales these show will sadly not go ahead. The Closure of these shows will hit us HARD.
So thats the sad situation we are in and thus brings me to why I have set up this page.
Everyone who has purchased a ticket for Ireland's call and Avenue Q will be given a full refund by the theatre from their box office. The theatre will be in touch and offer full refunds.
We want to ask anyone who has purchased a ticket for either Irelands Call or Avenue Q if they would be interested in donating the ticket price of 15 pounds. By doing this you will be helping us recoup our losses and help secure the foreseeable future of LS Theatre Productions. Your donation will help us pay the production bills and give us much needed funds so we can continue when allowed too to bring live theatre to local audiences and give our members the opportunity to perform.
You don't have to have purchased a ticket for Irelands Call or Avenue Q. You may have been to see one of our past production or you have a passion for local theatre and want to help us to keep local theatre alive and well in our communities.
