Keep Little Button Craft's Community Alive
Donation protected
Hello, My name is Shelby and I am the owner of Little Button Craft. For the last 10 years Little Button Craft has supported the Rochester arts and crafts community by showcasing handmade goods here in our store on South Ave. Over that decade, we have expanded into teaching craft classes and offering community events. We were recently said to be a great place to meet new people and build community by City Magazine.
I created this gofundme because we are struggling to stay open. I have been trying my best to reduce any spending we don't need, run at the bare minimum of staffing hours, and just generally have been trying to save every single penny I can get my hands on. Unfortunately that has not been enough and LBC is at high risk of closure.
A lot of folks who come through have told us how much LBC means to them and how we are a pillar of the community here in the South Wedge. It warms my heart that folks feel such a strong connection to the shop and the community that they have taken part in building. I want to continue providing that space for folks where they can come buy a handcrafted item, attend a crafting class, or come to one of our low cost community events. I would like to continue to grow this amazing community as much as I possibly can, which is why I need your help.
I am asking for donations to give us a small security net that will get us through the summer and into the busier fall months. Your donation will help cover staffing pay, payment to artists for classes and other services, materials for events, and part of our rent. Our biggest source of income right now is from our small batch custom projects such as engraving, custom gifts, t-shirts/apparel, and machine embroidery. This money will allow me to purchase supplies to continue making in-house made items and support our business through a very slow spring and summer.
If you are able to donate, please do. Even if you are able to share this gofundme with someone so they can help out that would be even better. Right now we could use: direct donations through gofundme or venmo, orders for small batch custom items like tshirts or engraved goods, booking a private party/event, and words of support please.
I appreciate you reading this and helping if you can. Small business and shopping local is so important and I would like to continue to have the opportunity to provide a welcoming and accessible space for everyone to become part of our community.
Thank you so much,
Shelby
