Hi,

My name is Debbie and I am working to keep Lisette at home with her mom. Her mom was diagnosed with kidney cancer earlier this year; that has now spread to the brain and spinal fluid. One of the common side effects from this cancer is pain and headaches; which Lisette's mom has been experiencing. It can be difficult under the best circumstances to predict overall outcome. However, unfortunately, Lisette's mom has shown metastasis to the brain. Her mom will be undergoing whole-brain radiation in hopes to control the progression and reduce her painful symptoms. The hope is to take her mom home with home health with the knowledge it may transition to hospice care quite quickly. Lisette has been told to prepare for only a few weeks left with her mom. Thus, that is the goal of this GoFundMe; keep Lisette at home with her mom.

If this wasn't bad enough, Lisette's son has been monitored for Neurofibromatosis. This is a genetic condition that is caused by a mutation or flaw in a particular gene. This can cause tumors that grow along nerves anywhere in the body. A recent MRI found an optic glioma and her little guy will begin this work-up next week. While outcomes are generally good, this is still a long ways from being over. Again, let's keep Lisette at home with her son.

As you can see, Lisette has a lot on her plate. This momma/daughter should stay home with her family. She just needs some help to be able to do that. While she does qualify for FMLA for her mom, she must use her own paid time off time to get paid. Her balance is running low as she has taken time off with her mom for previous appointments and treatments. She is just beginning the journey with her son so has not qualified for leave yet. She NEEDS to be at home with her family without having to worry about how to pay her bills.

Lisette is one of the most caring people that I know. She works in medical oncology and she gives of herself to her patients every day. She never asks for anything in return and goes above and beyond for others. She needs our love and support now.
