Support Liam: A Warrior's Journey Begins
Donation protected
Liam Knutson is a born warrior who is battling back from a congenital diaphragmatic hernia. He fought to come early in the world, being born 34 weeks and 2 days (37 weeks is early term, 39 full term); he had a successful surgery at 1 week old to relocate the small intestine and stomach and repair the hernia in the diaphragm.
He has been resting, healing, and recovering at Children's Hospital with his loving parents since. He is doing his part and is already off his ventilator at 3 weeks old!
Mom and Dad have been able to stay at the Ronald McDonald House for now, allowing them to be close by and with him as much as possible, but they have to leave this week (week of 8.12).
There are many unknowns regarding the timeline; however, Liam's stay at Children's is likely to last at least through September. Time will tell how much recovery will be needed in October.
The purpose of this fund is to help make this time as smooth as possible for Liam's parents. That could include close proximity hotel stays, filling in some financial gaps that insurance will not fully cover, or allowing extended paternity/maternity leave now and when Liam does come home!
Help me, along with their friends and family, rally behind this young new family and give them some peace of mind so they can focus on their little boy!
