Hey y’all, my name is Leslie and I’m a First Generation College student and freshman at Jackson State University. I’ve worked hard to get this far — I paid my enrollment fee, I’m registered for classes, and I’ve been doing everything I can to stay on top of things. But now I’m at a point where I really need help.
To keep my classes and stay enrolled this semester, I have to pay $1,873 by August 9th to start a payment plan. My total Fall balance is $7,495 — and I’m trying to raise this to stay in school and focus on doing what I came here to do.
I’ve reached out to financial aid, tried contacting housing, and I’m applying to jobs. But even with all of that, I can’t cover everything by myself in time.
If you’re able to donate — even just a little — or share this with someone who can, I’d appreciate it more than I can even explain. Everything will go toward:
• Tuition & Fees – $2,400
• Housing Deposit & Dorm Costs – $900
• Books & Course Materials – $200
• Meal Plan & Campus Essentials – $191
Thank you for helping me keep this dream alive. I come from a family that can’t financially support me through college, and I’m doing this on my own. I’m actively applying for jobs on and near campus — but with time running out, I need real help, fast.
I’m studying Broadcasting Journalism at JSU because I believe in using my voice to represent my community and tell stories that matter. But before I can do that, I need to hold onto this opportunity.
If you can donate anything — $5, $10, $20 — or just share this, it means everything to me.
Thank you for reading. Thank you for believing in me. I won’t waste this chance.
