We are raising funds for a very kind Leech Lake elder who has been a cornerstone of Mashkiki Studios. She travels about 40 minutes outside the city to support others in a nursing home, sharing her wisdom, care, and love every day. She is deeply supportive of our mission, giving guidance and nurturing like a mother, grandmother, and knowledge keeper.

Her job also provides her daily meals, giving her access to healthy, nourishing food that is essential for her wellbeing. She has been unable to work for almost a week due to unreliable transportation, and bus or rideshare options are expensive because of the distance. Ensuring she can get to work means she can continue her vital work while also maintaining her own health.
