Keep La Mexicana Open: Support Our Team and Our Next Chapter
La Mexicana Taco Bar is still open—and we need our community’s help to stay that way while we prepare our new home.
If you have spent time at The Yard in Wilton Manors, you know how special this place is. A meal becomes an afternoon. Neighbors become friends. Small businesses create something together that no single business could build alone.
For La Mexicana, being part of that community has meant everything. Now, we are asking you to help us carry it forward.
We have been told to vacate our current space with less than a month’s notice. Although uncertainty about The Yard’s future has been with us for a long time, this short timeline puts our business—and the livelihoods of the people who keep it running—in an incredibly difficult position.
We are pursuing legal efforts to extend our occupancy while construction on our new location is completed. Our goal is simple: keep serving our community, keep our team employed, and make it to our next home with as little disruption as possible.
But we are already feeling the impact.
Many people believe La Mexicana has already closed. We have not. That misunderstanding has reduced customer traffic at the very moment we need it most. Fewer guests mean less revenue to cover payroll and the everyday expenses that keep our doors open.
Behind every meal is a team member counting on a paycheck. Behind every shift is someone with rent, groceries, and a family or household depending on them. We want the people who helped build La Mexicana to be part of its future.
Your donation will help us:
Support employee pay during this period of transition and uncertainty.
Cover essential operating costs so we can continue welcoming guests while we seek additional time in our current space.
Bridge the transition to our new location as construction is completed, helping us preserve jobs and stay connected to our community.
We cannot promise the outcome of the legal process or an exact opening date for our new location. What we can promise is to keep you informed as the situation develops and share updates on how your support is helping our team move forward.
There are three ways you can help today: donate, visit, and share.
If you can contribute, any amount will help us navigate this difficult stretch. If donating is not possible, coming in for a meal or sharing this fundraiser is meaningful support. Please help us get the message out: La Mexicana is still open, still serving, and working hard to keep our team together.
The Yard holds memories that cannot be packed into moving boxes. But the friendships, hospitality, and community we have built here can come with us—with your help.
Thank you for giving us a chance to reach our next chapter, and for standing beside the people who make La Mexicana feel like home.
With gratitude,
Diva and the La Mexicana Taco Bar Team
