Hi, my name is Kristin Elmore, and I am making this GoFundMe to help my family. I am a SAHM to triplet boys who turn two years old on May 6th. We are currently 28 weeks pregnant with our fourth baby boy, who is very sick.
Our pregnancy has been traumatic since week 11 when we found out our baby has a left congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH).
Since we found out, it has been nothing short of anxiety and worry. CDH requires a life-saving surgery, which allows the doctors to perform a surgery and put his organs back in place where they are supposed to go and close the hole in the diaphragm that never closed on its own.
Our baby unfortunately has a moderate to severe case and may need ECMO when he is born, which is terrifying to say the least. ECMO is a heart-lung machine that basically provides life support for him.
We have an amazing team at John Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in St. Pete, Florida, that is taking over his care, but here is when we run into problems. My husband works about an hour north of where we live, and he will not be able to come and be with us in our time of need down south. We live about two hours away from the hospital we have to go to and be at around 30 weeks pregnant due to our baby being growth restricted already and the rise in complications.
I am asking for expenses to help us with our bills (three months' worth) so my husband, Tyler, can stay with us down south instead of having to work and not be with us in our worst time.
The NICU time for this defect can be anywhere from a few weeks to over a year. It all depends on our baby when he is welcomed to the world and decides his own fate. I am asking for the help for three months so we don’t have to worry about the bills not getting paid and we are able to be a family down south soon. Our triplet boys are going to have a major change when we go down there to relocate, and it would be so much easier if their daddy was with us.
Please consider helping my family. Nobody expects to get pregnant with a sick baby that requires surgery after birth.
Thank you for your consideration.
