Keep Jshawn in School: Your Help Needed

Hi Everyone,

I'm doing this GoFundMe for my son. We are in need of some help. He had his first year of college last year. He left straight from high school in May 2024 and was on campus in North Dakota by July 2024 at 17 years old. Unfortunately, he did not get a full ride and financial aid only approved him for less than $6k a semester. He was recruited to play football there but did not get a full scholarship, so I have been doing what I can throughout his first year trying to pay his fees as well as maintain my household while still helping him out with food and supplies as I feel I should while encouraging him to continue doing the right thing by going to school and trying to better himself.

Long story short, summer is over and I just paid for Jshawn to go back to his university to start school only to find out that he cannot enroll in his classes until his past due fees are paid. He owes a total of $5,000 but the school will put him on a payment plan once the minimum payment of $1,036 is made. If you can help out with any funds, that would be great. If you know me, I am a very trustworthy person and would not ask if I had the funds to cover it myself. I just want my boy to grow up and be great and lead by example for all his family under him. As some of us know, it's not easy out here for these young men. Not all are trying to do right, but there are some that are, and the world is not making it easy.

I know some may say just have him come home and go to community college, but my baby has worked so hard to get where he is. I would never want to crush his dream. I've always told him failure is not an option and to never give up. So hopefully we get the help he needs, and in the meantime, he is applying for jobs now that he is 18 and hopefully he finds one soon and will be able to start helping me with his fees. Thank you for taking the time out to read and share our story.
