Keep Jonathan Miller's Family Safe and Secure

I'm Jonathan Miller. I'm a former firefighter and security guard who has survived C-PTSD, MDD, and depression. In February of 2022, I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. In 2023, I found myself in a hospital near death with an infection in my left leg. Though I kept my leg, I was told I would likely have problems and could eventually be disabled. I lost over 100 pounds to try and keep that from happening, but in September of 2024, my legs began causing me intense pain. As the months progressed, it got harder and harder to deal with. By February of this year, it was everything I could do to get out of bed and go to work, and I was missing 2 to 3 days a week. The pain had progressed from my lower leg up to my knees and my hips. My doctors put me out of work and now believe there is something wrong with my spine. It is possible I will not be able to work a regular job, even at a desk again.
I have applied for Disability, SSI, and other aid while I wait for any updates about what is wrong with me physically. There is a long process for many of these, and others wait until you are facing eviction or worse before they will intercede. My family has relied on me as the sole breadwinner since 2006. I have been the foundation that supported my spouse and our two children, and now that I'm not working, all of that has been upended. Our oldest son is mentally disabled, and he is in the final process of getting his disability, but again we don't know when that will happen. My youngest is finishing his GED and then wants to go out into the world. I want to be able to help him with that one day, but for now, I want to keep him in a stable and safe home and support him as much as I can.
I realize that these are difficult times for everyone, but that is when we should all rally and support each other however we can. A dollar here, three dollars there could help make the difference of someone keeping the lights on or a roof over their heads. If you are reading this, I beseech you to please help however you can, even just sharing this and spreading it far and wide. I thank you for your time and your kindness and wish you would be blessed.
