Keep Johnathan and the Kitties in Their Happy Home

On June 10th, through no fault of my own I lost the job that brought me to Illinois. A place that I was able to thrive in, to be happy in, and most importantly where I am safe as a transgender man.

While I will be receiving unemployment payments, the amount I will be receiving is not enough to cover my basic living expenses, and I will only be able to receive them up until the start of October. The full montly amount will not cover rent.

Coincidentally, that's also when the lease for my apartment would be renewing, so technically that would be the deadline for me to stay or leave IL.

I'm asking for help to pay for my rent and electric bill until October while I look for work. I have a number of employment prospect in the works, and the Chicagoland area is actually super full of IT jobs, but the market is unstable right now. If I am unable to find employment by then, myself and the cats will likely be returning to CA to live with my dad - an option that I would like to avoid if at all possible. This GFM would allow me to use my unemployment payments for my other living expenses - my medications, car payment/insurance, internet, food - in the interim as well.

Being able to stay in IL would mean the world to me. I've been so very happy since I came to IL, and I truly don't want to leave it. So please, any assistance to allow me to stay here would be appreciated.
