My name is John Goulet and I'm trying to raise some emergency funds to cover my rent at my new apartment and possibly some help fixing my car. I have had a run of bad luck here. I was in a car accident on April 24th while delivering pizza and haven't been able to work since. I had to go to the hospital and pay for my car to be towed out of pocket. My rent for May is due tomorrow, May 9th, or the apartment complex I'm living in is going to institute eviction proceedings against me.
I have very little money to put towards this. Catholic Charities is giving me $500, and the Northeast Florida AIDS Network was going to help with the rest, but the apartment complex is refusing to accept their payment due to a technicality: because the payment may take up to 30 days to reach them. It would likely not take that long, but they're unwilling to work with me.
- I have been unable to return to work because my employer needs to run a new Motor Vehicle Report on me, and there's no telling how long that will take. I really only need about $1,000 for the rent. The rest of anything raised would go towards fixing my car. I moved here from NY two years ago to help my mother with her fight against cancer, and I've had to live in a small room with my two cats this whole time up until last month. I finally got a place, and now this car accident has me and my two fur babies, Dunkel and Finster, on the verge of being homeless. Please help me with these bills, folks. I would be forever grateful.
