On April 5th, 2021 my son called 911, I had been sick for 2 weeks, vomiting and finding it difficult to breathe. I went to Winter Park Hospital and was diagnosed and admitted with covid-19. I was there until April 22nd, then I was sent to a rehab facility in Apopka, Florida until April 29th, 2021 when I was lucky enough to go home.
On April 6th, 2021 my once again had to call 911 for Joseph M. Grova. He was taken to Winter Park Hospital, diagnosed with covid-19 and admitted as well. We lost Joseph on May 17th, 2021. It was bad enough losing Joseph, as he was like an Uncle to my children. As we were both hospitalized for most of April, we never got the chance to sign a new lease. Joseph had gone into remission from Hodgkin's Lymphoma in March. I took him and picked him up from every chemotherapy appointment and during the 10 months I paid most of the bills and told him not to worry about it. Joseph was a great friend and deserved a better out come.
Do to these circumstances which were beyond our control, we lost the apartment. As I mentioned before, we couldn't afford it on our own. I live on Social Security Disability and we have been looking for a income subsidized apartment since April and we haven't been able to find anything yet.
My son, my emotional support dog Zena and i have been living out of my car and this isn't going very well at all. My back is a mess, 7 bad discs in my lower back and 2 in my neck. My pain level is difficult to deal with on a daily basis, this just makes it worse. I have many outstanding bills from the apartment and moving expenses which I need to take care of not to mention trying to rent motel rooms so we can clean up and stay clean. We haven't given up, I called 17 places that offer assistance to homeless people like us. I called a subsidized apartment building this week and they told me they had a 4 to 6 year waiting list, another one told me 1 to 5 year waiting list. I know there is an apartment out there for us and I have faith I will find it. In the mean time I am asking for help. So please if you can help us stay off the streets and out of my car. Thank you.
