My name is Yumi, and I'm trying to raise funds to help my mom's business, Jenny's Sky Nails, located in Flushing, New York.

My mom acquired this business in November of 2018, not too long before the COVID pandemic hit. Although we were able to get through the challenging times, like many other small businesses, we have never fully recovered.

During the pandemic, we applied and were eventually approved for the SBA EIDL loan. This helped us a great deal for a little while, but unfortunately the continuously rising costs, inflation, and the instability of the economy have continued to hit a toll on us, on top of obligations to pay back the loan.

My mom hopes to be able to run her business for at least a few more years before she retires. She loves working with her clients, especially the elderly, and being an employer that her staff members can trust and count on. I know that she has dedicated so much so far, and it breaks my heart to think she may have to close the business sooner than intended. The past few months have been the most difficult so far, and it's even starting to take a toll on her health.

I've been doing everything I can from my end, by picking up extra shifts and more to try to support. However, it's not enough in the short amount of time that we have.

Any support, however big or small, would be greatly appreciated! All funds will be used directly for the business, whether it be rent, utility bills, or even buying supplies.
