KEEP JAZZ FREE IN LANSING! We are asking for support to keep our monthly show and jam session at the Robin Theatre in Lansing free and accessible to the local community and students!

Jazz as an artform is music that is based in community, and yet there are very few shows or jam sessions in the Lansing area for students to attend, despite the fact that MSU has a world class jazz program! This is in part because of a lack of financial viability. Most jazz shows in central Michigan are relatively expensive to attend ($20+), making them somewhat inaccessible to students and our local community members. This is for good reason, each band member must be paid, and other overhead costs must be covered. However, myself (Mia) and Dylan Rogers at the Robin Theatre, don’t believe that building a community around a shared love of music should be so difficult, or inaccessible. This is why we are trying to crowdfund to secure enough money to continue our monthly series without charging people at the door! :)
