Hi! We are Jay and Cat Beaulieu, and we have a 2-year-old daughter called Journey. We have had an incredibly tough year with Jay fighting Bilateral Kidney Cancer (cancer in both kidneys). In August, he had his right kidney removed and part of his left kidney removed. The surgeon is hopeful that he cut all the cancer out, but this has now left my incredible husband facing another battle: Stage 3 Chronic Kidney Disease!

We thought we had fought everything we could this year, but on the way to church yesterday, our car started to idle high. We had someone run the codes to find out what was wrong, and our timing chain has broken. We have been told that it is not safe to drive, and to fix it is going to be in the region of $2500. The cost is so high because the engine will need to be taken apart to fix it.

The only income we have right now is the $1500 a month that Jay receives from disability, and our rent takes $1000 of that.

Our car is vital to get us to and from Jay’s oncology and nephrology appointments at VCU in Richmond.
