Hello everyone,

My name is Janis, but my owner calls me Ms. Poop, Girlfriend, Stinky, and the list goes on. If there is any meaning behind these names, they all boil down to one thing: companion. That is exactly what I am to my owner and what she is to me.

I will never forget the first day I chose my human. It was outside the place where she worked. I lived in the sewer across the street, and some of the kind ladies who worked there would give me CiCi’s pizza or other food I found in the trash.

One day, my owner heard me screaming from the sewer, trying to ask for help because I was so hungry and still just a baby. I tried taking on the world alone but quickly realized I was too small. After that day, I’ve lived the best life a cat could have. I have two brothers who I love to play with, cuddle, fight, and have found lifelong companions in. The owner would not realize it too but, she also found another reason worth living.

After a year of beating the odds and finding someone to call my own, I started to grow sick. Fluid began to build in and around my lungs. I worked harder to breathe and lost my appetite.

My owner rushed me to the ER, and since then, I have been in ICU care at my primary vet. Because of her decision to keep me alive and not let me suffer, the vets and support system have done nothing but help me and I am so thankful for everyone.

I will continue to fight through my illness and stay strong for my mom.
