Help Janet Fight Cholangiocarcinoma — and Keep Her Light Shining
In February, our world turned upside down when my sister Janet was diagnosed with cholangiocarcinoma (bile duct cancer) — a rare and aggressive form of cancer.
If you’ve ever met Janet, you know she’s pure light and fire — the kind of woman who lights up every room she walks into. She’s spent her life building others up — running marketing departments, mentoring young professionals, and inspiring everyone with her creativity and drive. She’s the kind of person who would drop everything to help someone in need.
Before her diagnosis, Janet lived life to the fullest. She spent years living in Italy, becoming fluent in Italian and soaking in the beauty of travel and culture. She loved weekend getaways, trying new restaurants, and exploring the world.
But since February, everything has changed.
The treatments have taken a huge toll on her body — she can no longer walk without assistance, has neuropathy in her hands and feet, and even taking a shower has become exhausting. She suffers from constant nausea and anemia, and driving is no longer possible.
To make matters worse, in September, Janet lost her job — not because of her performance, but because of her illness. Her employer initially promised to continue paying for her insurance, but stopped coverage at the end of September without notice, leaving her completely uninsured during October — the same month she had to be hospitalized for several weeks.
Now, she’s facing massive medical debt from hospital stays, treatments, and medications. We’ve applied for financial assistance, but it only covers a portion of the bills — and the uncovered weeks alone are overwhelming.
We are doing everything we can to support her, but the costs are more than our family can handle. Janet deserves to focus on healing, not bankruptcy.
We’re asking for help — anything you can give — to help Janet cover her medical expenses, ongoing treatments, and living costs as she fights for her life.
Your donation, no matter the size, makes a difference. It helps keep Janet’s light shining — a light that has touched so many people over the years.
Thank you for reading, sharing, and supporting.
With love and gratitude,
