A few years ago, surgeries (including one to remove cancer) knocked her back and drained every reserve she had, physical and financial. Just as she was recovering from that, the pandemic hit, and a private equity company swooped in, bought up her late house taxes and now wants to claim the house. In the meantime, she's only able to work part-time because of her disabilities, her husband's entertainment business disappeared with the first lockdown, and they're finding themselves further behind every month because of interest charges and fees.

If Jacqui could get enough to pay all the utilities, she, her husband, and their furbabies could stay in her house and start the fight to keep it away from the private equity company.
