For those that don't know me yet, I am Leonie.

Im from the Netherlands but settled in Goa, India , to help the stray dogs and cats.

After years of volunteering in various animal shelters, I decided to set up my own foster home, called Incredible Indies.

At Incredible Indies I have 16 resident dogs and 3 cats, all from difficult rescue situations. Some are paralysed, some have 3 legs, some are traumatized and need special care, etc

Besides my residents, I look after injured or sick stray dogs till they are recovered. And then help to find them homes or release them back in their territory under observation.

I also help stray dogs getting adopted into Europe by looking after them till they are ready to fly and preparing their papers and doing their leash and crate training.

Thereby I do a bit of boarding for local people, when they need to travel or have an emergency, I take in their dogs for a small fee.

Those fees help to find the care of the stray dogs that need help.

I have an acre of land to look after, and on average 30+ animals in my care, without any help.

Thereby , I also support the dogs in the streets with basic medical care when needed. And help often with catching injured dogs, giving vaccinations to the beach dogs and catch dogs for sterilizations.

Unfortunately last Monday (4 August) I had a crash with my scooter and broke my arm.

While on my way to buy cat food, a cow came running on the road, there was nothing I could do. So I went flying and ended up in a ditch.

(The cow was fine)

I knew immediately my arm was broken.

I went to the hospital where I got admitted and got a surgery the next day.

One of my bones was dislocated and my humerus bone was snapped in two.

I am patched up with plates and screws and now started my recovery period.

It will take 6 weeks to get my bones to heal, and 3 months before I have full range of motion and can lift things (dogs) again.

Hence the call out for help with this fundraiser.

As I usually do all the work alone, but now I have to hire a caretaker to support me and pay his salary.

As with 1 arm and lots of pain, I can't get any of my daily work done alone.

Lucky I have a good insurance that covered 90% of the hospital, but some costs are not covered.

Also I need to repair my scooter

And ofcourse I can not take in new dogs into my foster home for 2-3 months, which means no income, while my monthly bills continue

So in total I need help with:

- 3 months salary of the caretaker (60.000rs)

- own risk for the hospital bills (31.500rs)

- scooter repair (9800rs)

- mobile phone repair (13.000rs)

- covering loss of income for 3 months (60.000-80.000rs)
